TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions are relevant to all users of Wineglass Bay Discovery tours. In the following list of conditions the terms ‘client’ and ‘you’ refers to the user/client. The terms ‘operator’, ‘we’ and ‘our’ refers to Wineglass Bay Discovery Tours operational staff and management.

  • Clients are to be advised that travel insurance is not included in the tour. We carry public liability insurance and follow all applicable laws and regulations in our operations. In booking a tour with us you accept that any outdoor activity always involves some risk and that you will not hold this company, its employees, or subcontractors responsible for any injury or loss that you could suffer to yourself and/or your possessions.
  • Client punctuality and adherence to itinerary timelines is important to ensure the tour runs smoothly. Pick up time and location is confirmed the day before the tour. It is important that you be waiting at your pick-up location at least 5 minutes prior to the specified time. If a client does not confirm the day before or is not at the pick-up location at the agreed time, the operator reserves the right to consider the client a ‘no show’. Reasonable wait time can be allowed, however if it will delay the departure of the tour the operator reserves the right to continue on without you. See cancellation policy.
  • Client safety is paramount and it is expected that clients adhere closely to all instructions given to them by their guide. Any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect the ability to fully participate and/or jeopardise personal safety and the safety of others must be disclosed to the operator prior to commencing the tour. All travellers are to be reminded that the walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is a steady incline. While the track is open and well-constructed, a reasonable level of fitness is necessary for your own safety and the enjoyment of others. The operator reserves the right to withdraw clients from tours if they are deemed unsafe or unfit to participate.
  • Please do not travel if you believe you are unwell or suffering from a contagious illness such as Covid19, Influenza or gastroenteritis. If you are too unwell to travel a full refund will be given providing you present a medical certificate as soon as possible to the operator specifying your inability to travel on the relevant date. 
  • Tours may occasionally be subject to unforseen operational needs and changes resulting in some variations to published itineraries and inclusions. While tours are not necessarily subject to weather, tour itinerary may change and tour duration be reduced for the comfort and safety of clients in poor weather conditions.
  • On the rare occasions that a tour does not receive sufficient bookings the operator reserves the right to cancel the tour. The operator will try to accommodate clients on other tours but where this is not an option cancellation will apply. See cancellation policy for further details.
  • Children over the age of eight are welcome. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. 
  • We are visiting pristine Tasmanian national parks where littering is strictly prohibited. Clients are advised to take all waste products, including food scraps, with you when you leave the Freycinet National Park. Please note that feeding native animals is potentially harmful to them and is strictly prohibited.
  • During the tour, your guide and/or associated operational staff may wish to take photos of clients for advertising and promotional purposes. Please advise our operators if you do not consent to have your image usedin such a manner and we will not do so.
  • Airport drop-offs are an option on the return trip to Hobart and can be arranged prior to the day of the tour by contacting the operator. This is a courtesy service when possible. Please note that the operator will not be held liable if unforseen events or travel delays lead to flights being missed. Please be advised there is only room on the bus to accommodate ‘carry on’ luggage. It is best to communicate with the operator regarding this option prior to the tour. The operator has the right to refuse carrying large luggage items as this may inconvenience the safety and comfort of other clients.
  • Conditions of travel with Wineglass Bay Discovery Tours
    The consumption of alcohol, drugs and smoking is strictly prohibited. The consumption of food and drinks while on the bus are strictly prohibited, for safety reasons this includes soft drinks, flavoured milk, coffee and tea (water is permitted). The wearing of seat-belts is compulsory while traveling, and passengers are to remain seated while the vehicle is in motion. Please refrain from putting feet on the seats and please take your rubbish with you. The operator reserves the right to refuse transportation to and/or remove passengers who do not comply with these conditions.
  • A final word
    On the tour, we spend the day together as a group, so it is important, for the safety of all, to be considerate towards other clients, obedient of the rules of Tasmania’s National Parks and wildlife, and respectful of your tour guide’s instructions at all times so time frames are maintained and the full offered itinerary is enjoyed by all.

These terms and conditions were updated in June 2024. Wineglass Bay Discovery Tours reserves the right to alter and update these terms and conditions at any time necessary.
